This was a great costume, even won a contest. I made it into more of a Geisha look by adding long tights, a parasol, appropriate simple make-up, and a pair of Geta shoes. I also used more of a Geisha wig (purple and black) not shown in this picture but on this site. The material is thick and not cheap like most costumes, hides the parts you want hidden and lays nicely. I bought a small and it fit just fine with some room but not too much that it looked too big (I'm a 4-6, 5'6" 125lbs), true to size, a size 8 person could wear this. It was also long enough that nothing hung out the backend. The only thing I didn't care for was the Obi/Sash (it was ok). You should pin it from the inside of the costume to have the wide look that an Obi is supposed to have. Due to the poorer quality of the Obi it bunches together a bit if you don't. I steamed my Obi and costume with a little hand steamer I've had forever, it turned out just fine. If you don't have one of those, hang it up and take a couple hot showers with the door closed. I did wash it afterward before packing it away, cold water, hang dry...turned out just fine. Fun costume and no matter how you dress it up, this one will be better quality than most!

I used this for a costume party. I won most unique. I did add full-length white tights, bought an asian umbrella and found a pair of cheap Geta shoes online. I also used more of a Geisha wig than the one that's shown. The quality of this costume is awesome. It's not thin and cheap like some, it hides any imperfections you don't want shown. It's comfortable and I didn't feel like I had to keep adjusting myself...however the Obi/Sash is not the best quality so it didn't stay wide like it should so I would recommend pinning it from the inside of the costume if you really want the true wide look that an Obi is supposed to have, that's the only "poor quality" I noticed. Everyone really liked it and one girl even came with a similar theme and this one by far was better.
