The fabric is a very thin nylon stretch. I would not let my husband wear it without something underneath it - too sheer. Fortunately it's stretchy for my husky man (I got the bigger size), and he wore jeans and a sweatshirt under it. Don't expect your man to keep the plastic face mask on either. Maybe consider buying ears and painting his face instead? Good enough for our family theme costume.
